Announces Pirates of Lanier III-Castaways Poker Run-
With a chance to win cash prizes-and much, much more!

Buford, Georgia, June 9, 2011- Lanier Partners of North Georgia, Inc., a Georgia  non-profit organization, announced their decision to again organize and sponsor a Lake Lanier Poker Run- “Pirates of Lanier Castaways Poker Run III”, on August 27, 2011. 

We will donate our proceeds from this event to "Camp Sunshine", a Georgia children's camp program that offers an infusion of love, support, fun, acceptance and hope for children with cancer, and it's in full swing all year long and to the "Children of Fallen Soldiers" providing financial assistance to surviving children and spouses of our U.S. military service members who have lost their lives in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. We will also take time to honor our military and civilian patriots that have served our country.

The Castaways Poker Run event is scheduled to take place August 27, 2011 starting at 10 am.

Holiday Marina will be the hosting marina for the Captain’s Party on Friday, August 26, 2011 and the location for the Closing event will be the Sunset Cove Cafe and Beach Club, located on Lanier Islands for the awards ceremony and festive celebration on August 27. Any business wishing to become a charitable sponsor is encouraged to contact Lanier Partners of North Georgia for more information and sponsorship fees.

There is a limit of 200 boats allowed to register for this poker run. Based on last year’s event, early registration is very important. Boat classes will include performance, pontoons, ski, and cruiser style boats. 

Participants are encouraged to dress accordingly in pirate or patriotic attire since each boat and crew will have the opportunity to receive great prizes and giveaways for “Best Patriotic Boat”, “Best Dressed Crew”, “Worst Dressed Crew”, "Best Decorated Boat”, and “Worst Decorated Boat”.

There will be a mandatory meeting of all boat captains on Friday, August 26, 2011 at 7 pm at Holiday Marina Pavilion located on Holiday Road, Buford. Each boat captain will receive coordinates for the poker run, safety instructions and an overview of the rules for the event.

What makes this event so exciting is that each participant in the Castaways Poker Run III will have a chance to win great prizes only found in the richest of treasure chests!  Families, fraternities, and friends are invited to attend. Crews of all shapes and sizes welcome!

Entry for Pirates of Lanier-Castaways Poker Run III will be $85 per boat, with extra hands available for $30 each.
